While passing through earlier I noticed the underground breakdown vehicles on asking staff on the ticket gates they said there had been a derailment on the Jubilee, anyone know anymore?

No disruptions shown on the TfL website on any line (is this a first?)
Although, a derailment in the Jubilee platforms at Charing X at any time in the past ten years would have had no effect on normal services

Yes, aparently there was a derailment at Charing Cross last night.
Although I have an idea as to what happened it is not for me to discuss it on here.
Nobody was hurt which is the most important thing.

It used to be a part of my signal maintenance area so I could speculate but I will refrain from doing so.

I don't want to speculate on the causes either - but this ties in with some other discusssion I had in connnection with a former job - as CHX (Jub) is no longer a passenger running line and the filming train wasn't public (don't they run in a possession, IIRC) - I wonder if this falls through the loophole for reporting to RAIB.
If it is reported to RAIB, then there's no point in speculation anyhoo, as we'll find out the details in good time.

Charing Cross Jubilee is still part of the operational railway, the LU Rule Book, reporting of incidents to HMRI, RAIB still apply

Yes, I'm aware of that: I was thinking along the lines of the class distinctions between a Schedule 1, 2 or 3 reportable incident stems from whether or not the train was carrying passengers, working in a possession, if the place of derailment materially affects the safety of passenger trains - that sort of thing.

Train returned to SMD around 20:00 last night,the only thing I could see was the driver's side headlight not working on 96098.

MRFS it is possible that the train was carrying passengers if this was required for whatever scene was being filmed. Just because the train is a special one, LU's rules for carrying passengers still apply (e.g. regarding shunt signals). I expect that any passengers would be classed as fare-paying as well (whether or not this makes a difference I don't know) given that the film company would have paid a fee - even if it was an internal LU filming exercise I would expect transfer of money from one department to another to have taken place.
