That's a big inconveniece to customers wanting to change at Willesden for the Overground, although I suppose there are still other routes, albeit more roundabout.
On a related note I've always thought that the QP terminators should be extended to Stonebridge Park to provide the important interchange at Willesden. Many times I've found myself frustrated by having to wait for 10 minutes at QP for a train continuing north.
Alas.

This thins out the service at the extreme ends which are less busy and helps provide a more intense services in the central area.

You've also got to consider the signalling north of QP - there simply isn't the ability to put trains through as quickly. Remember that NR is signalled to a different standard and for trains with different braking rates. I think you'll find that the minimum booked time separation between the two types of train is about 4½ minutes - there is occasionally stand time booked at Queens Park or (in the case of a NR train following a Bakerloo down from Watford) there's usually ½ min added at Harrow, Wembley and Willesden to make sure that the NR train doesn't catch up with the UndergrounD one.

Stonebridge Park is short of the end of the line at Harrow isn't it?

Stonebridge Park is short of the end of the line at Harrow isn't it? There isn't the demand to run every train to Stonebridge Park, and so many trains terminating there would cause a bottleneck.

They did a similar shutdown north of QPK a few years ago. The trains they used had no access to the wash Stonebridge depot and by the end of it they were filthy to the extent you could barely see out the windows! Don't envy the staff breathing that muck in every day.

Don't envy the staff breathing that muck in every day. The Bakerloo has always been a dusty hole, you used to go home stinking of brake dust. Even your trousers stank after 4 days. I suspect it'll eventually get cleaner like the Northern now has, when the 72's get replaced by trains which use less brake blocks to slow them down.

To be suspended Thursday 27th August to Sunday 30th August - Paddington to Elephant & Castle.
How did I miss this on their website so close to the date.

That's in connection with the crossover (or crossover-ish type) works at Picc. Circus - Paddington is the nearest revesrsing point.
It has already been mentioned on the forum.
