Four locations today, each with an inset. Now there is a common link between all the main pictures and insets, so that needs finding as well as working out the odd man out. To clarify, although the link exists between all the stations and insets, the odd one out is the odd one out from the main photographs only.

B inset: Cathedral and Metropolitan of St Peter, York (background); St Michael Le Belfrey (foreground) EDIT: Actually I'm not sure of the identities of the other two churches in the photo apart from the Minster, but it is def. York.
I wonder if the connection is something to do with possible destinations from the main picture in each case; and one is the odd one out; which one though!
C inset looks like somewhere in Edinburgh (I've vague memories of wandering around that sort of area)

B is Holland Park? You can see a Central Line in the mirror.

Is C - Kings Cross Northern Line platforms? That'll do for me; Kings Cross St Pancras - refuge point en-route from Northern to Piccadilly Just the link to find now. To clarify, although the link exists between all the stations and insets, the odd one out is the odd one out from the main photographs only.

Is the link that the name of each station appears on more than one line except pictue B (Holland Park) which only appears on one, the Central Line? That's not the link we are looking for. The insets all have the same theme as the main locations.

Bumping per request. I should have waited until the 2nd of September to run this question, as that date would tie in with the link.

Each inset town has a castle, at one time used as a refuge for the town. The main pics are refuges in tunnels, except for the shelter on Kentish Town West, which is a refuge from the weather.
Complete guess..

Something to do with the start of WW2?
Can't I just have a point anyway as my birthday is August 10th?
