Evening all, I was browsing a CD-ROM of LT Museum posters, when I came across the following, by Lilian Dring, dating from 1933 or '38. MRFS and I were puzzling over the mysterious word 'elpetebe', when it occurred to me in a flash today - of course it means LPTB - London Passenger Transport Board. Just in case anyone else was wondering.

The phrase "Modern God of Transport" (if taken out of context of the illustration!), is ridiculously egotistical! Even worse than "World class service"! I can see that TfL has something to aspire to here.
