I am being driven 'insane' trying to locate this location in Covent Garden, circa 1965. It is almost adjacent to the Flower Market, now the LT Museum, but that distinctive building in the background is defeating me! Is it Southampton Street/Henrietta Street? www.gmhistorian.btinternet.co.uk/abg594.jpgNote the British Railways Scammell Scarab, and in the left outside the market building is a Scammell BR trailer.

+1. Definitely correct on 21146's part. I'll probably be there in the next couple of days, so I'll try and take the exact shot if I can. Definitely the Royal Opera House in the background, I'm there about 4 times a month so should know for the amount of money that goes their way

This is a view along Henrietta Street, with Southampton Street junction on the right, with the now LT Museum building (formerly Flower Market I think) in the background. www.gmhistorian.btinternet.co.uk/abg582.jpgI think that this is King Street, looking west, though the road off to the right opposite the A35 van says 'BEDFORD.....' The road to the right must be James Street. Perhaps there has been redevelopment since? www.gmhistorian.btinternet.co.uk/abg597.jpg

Thats looking east. fruit & vegetable market on left, flower market on right, Royal Opera House poking out over the top in background. I think I've changed my mind. Isn't this taken looking "north", basically with the flower market to the right (out of shot) and the current LTM entrance behind the camera. The building in the background (with the arches), which sort of looks like today's main LTM, has actually been demolished since as part of the ROH redevelopment. This would also explain the light-coloured '1920s' building to its left which has also gone. A giveaway is the top of the ROH which is not, of course, situated behind the LTM. This area is referred as "The Piazza" today.

Thanks for the advice! I think that the view is of the east end of the market building, which in the Google views is not available but it is possible to see is now a modern building. I think technically it was in Covent Garden.
Using the Google maps and view, i found my parents' block of flats, and their car is clearly visible! Our old house is there, unrecognisable having had so many alterations since I moved out in 1981ish. Spooky!!!
