It's a single part question today with a bonus point. There is a further bonus point for working out why this location was chosen today. *Click image for a larger version*

The inset looks like the bridge over the A38 Gloucester Rd in Bristol. How about Morningtn Cres for the main picture?

I agree with Mr SB..that's the Montpelier Railway Bridge / Cheltenham Road Viaduct (called 'The Arches' when I was a student at Bristol) at the junction of Gloucester Road and Cheltenham Road, facing north. The Severn Beach line runs to Redland Station a short distance to the left (Montpelier is to the right). Built 1874. What that's got to do with MC goodness knows!

Why the choice of Mornington Crescent? Is it because Euston station opened on 20th July 1837 and the railway passes close to Mornington Crescent on its way to the terminus?

Mornington Crescent - passage from lifts to platforms. Inset: Gloucester Road Arches, Bristol - where the Severn Beach Line crosses the A38 *Click either image for a larger version* Still looking for the reason why this was chosen today......

That may be the case, but it isn't the answer we are looking for.

I can only suggest MC = two 'arches', versus 'The Arches' = four arches.

It isn't to do with a count of physical features at the station, and the inset picture is irrelevant on this occasion. Of the numbers given - 2, 20, 21 and 207 - the latter is the closest.

Does it have to do with the number of weeks the station was closed while it was modernised?

No, but part of the answer is a time-related number.

Bumping per request. The key number is 200. Get counting, and try and relate it to both July 20th and Mornington Crescent.
