I was wondering what happens when trains are stabled away from main depots, like District train 110 which lives at Richmond overnight. Does the driver get a special taxi to bring them back to the depot or do they just finish there and then? I can thnk of a few other examples of this on the network, such as Picc stabling at Uxbridge and South Harrow, and on the Vic line at Walthamstow and Brixton.
Also what happens in the morning, does the driver get another taxi to these locations or a staff bus after booking on at their home depot, or have I got this all worng?
Thanks for Reading Alex

To avoid getting my JCB out again i'll only talk about the District line! ;D
You are indeed correct. Train 110 is left at Richmond by a night driver, who then gets a scheduled staff taxi to Acton Town depot. In the morning, a different driver gets a scheduled taxi from Acton Town to Richmond. Similar arrangements exist at Earls Court depot for trains stabled at Parsons Green.

In my time when "outstabling" occurred the crew remained with the train all night. This also happened when the "winter warmers" ran. These were trains that went to various points on the system that were under cover and warmer that depots & sidings and generally frost free. On the District the one point I remember for this was Mansion House middle bay. On the Northern line there were trains outstabled in winter at Kennington siding, Archway Siding and I think Tooting Broadway also. The Met had an A stock stabled overnight at Aldgate and the Piccadilly had two oustablers also. One at Wood Green and one the cental area somewhere.
When these arrangemnts took place the traction current did NOT remain on as that was deemed uneccesary

Put that spade away!! ;D Train 110 is prepared and brought into service by Earls Court's No. 3 duty, But as you say the driver is scheduled taxi'd to Richmond from Earls Court

Am I right in thinking that Train 110 enters service in the morning as Train 6?

Do these staff taxis on duties (such as Earls Ct 3 duty) run automatically, or does the T/Op still have to book it? (Seems like a silly question but someone I was chatting to the other day says ALL taxis must be booked at least a day in advance)

Staff taxis to get you home or to work have to be booked before 21.00.
