Sorry for the late post to this thread, but does anyone know when the stairs are going to be built and the remainder of this new station completed? It seems to have been in more or less the same state for weeks (if not months) now. I note that DMIs seem to have been added to the platfotms recently - but I can't see much else that's different to how it looked, say, six weeks ago. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be "Shepherd's Bush II".

There is still a lot of work going on there. You will not see much difference though as it is the electrics, etc.

Recently noted there are stairs to the platforms - they seem to be in a "spiral" around the lift shaft. Don't know how I missed that before, really. On another note - I wonder why they didn't decide to name this station "Chelsea Harbour" instead?

I wonder why they didn't decide to name this station "Chelsea Harbour" instead? I think that the station was part-financed by the developer of the Imperial Wharf site (part of the British Gas site there) so they probably got to choose the name.

Meanwhile, the roundelled station-name signs went up the other day. Only for them to have disappeared by this morning. Oh, what with their comedic launches of the not-quite-happening 378s, the debacle over Shepherds Bush, station nameplates going up then coming down - this London Overground is really impressive so far.

Were these the LO and NR logos on the west side of the station? They were lit up internally the other night and the LO one looked more red than orange!

Well, I note the station-name signs have gone back up again now. What all that was about, goodness alone knows.
The station looks very nearly ready to open, now.

Whilst i agree with some of your comments the Shepherds Bush fiasco was not of London Overgrounds making. The issue of the platform width was being raised long before the station opened (infact whilst the station was being built) let alone under London Overgrounds ownership. I think your being a bit harsh on them, would rather of had the service still being run by its previous incumbents you know that company that has just had the ECML taken off them, the same company now embroiled in a better dispute on NXEA?

I stand corrected and apologise.

Haven't posted this on LR yet (will do so this morning), but according to sources within TfL, Imperial Wharf is likely to open next month.

I managed to stop in the platform the other day and took a quick wander around the platform. From the quick look it seems that the platforms are complete and I looked over the railings noticed the workmen installing the hand rails for the stairs etc. Looks nice shame about the short canopy and also, my opinon, there is a route board right in front of the lift and stairs likely to get in the way.

Any news on Imperial Wharf opening? The "advanced option" on the TFL on-line journey planner would seem to suggest this Sunday.

Makes me laugh that BoJo is opening the station officially, and of course he has had very little to do with it at all, now taking the credit!

[rant]Can I ask why tubeflight and 21146 have not bothered to read the post I made this afternoon? When I say that Imperial Wharf is opening this Sunday, what do they think I meant? [/rant]

[/rant] Yes because I don't scan every thread 24/7 and posed the question just over an hour after your post. See you on Sunday then...

It looks pretty much ready, so why the wait? It seems common for the opening dates of new stations/services to be a Sunday of late, so I would presume that the only question for a while now has been "Which Sunday?". If so, then all the staff rosters, etc will be designed around a Sunday start and changing that at this late stage would not really be in the interests of a smooth opening day. That Sundays have the slackest timetable and thus the greatest chance of avoiding the PR disaster that a Terminal-5 style opening would bring.

The NR enquiries website is listing the first train calling there as being the 0815 from Clapham Junction.

The 0815 from Clapham Junction will be a Southern Service to Watford Junction, the first Overground service will be the 0848 from Clapham Junction and is booked to be a 378.

#13 was the first unit to stop at Imperial Wharf, as the 08:18 SN service was cancelled due to Signalling problems
