I was waiting today on P2 at Clapham for the 1505 to Willesden. Then we hear an automated announcment of a platform alteration, and our service now will depart from Platform 17 !
Me and others made our way to platform 17. I was just wondering is it normal for LO services to sometimes operate into and back out of platform 17 ? ? Is there any other platforms at Clapham this service could use as well as 2 and 17 ?

It is a very regular occurance, on some Sundays recently it has been booked to go in and out of platform 17.

Southern's northbound services sometimes use 17 (instead of 16 as you would expect), much to my confusion. Can LO services not use platfom 16? (I can't recall whether there is a suitable crossver)

I've known the "Southern" WLL service to enter/leave from Platform 2 on one occasion.

They use it as a back up like LO use platform 17.

Southern use platform 2 for first and last services for route knowledge retention. Silverlink as they were, learned platform 17 after a few suspensions decimated the service as they had a very narrow field of vision. Platform 16 is only available from the up Brighton Slow for through moves to the West London as no suitable crossover available to reverse. Incidently I was also on platform 2 waiting for the 1505 service so was happy to break the routine with a dash to platfom 17 for a change.

lnwrelectric, was you one of the hoodies with the loud music on that train playing out after leaving Clapham? If so I was the one who asked you to turn it off lol ! (my request was refused and I was told to "walk to the next carriage innit"
