At the moment, there are minor delays on the Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith and City Lines due to a signal failure at Farringdon. Wasn't there another signal failure a few days ago that was causing severe delays and suspensions at like 7 am?
Is there something wrong with the signals at Farringdon?

There are several sets of points at Farringdon and they get a fair amount of use for shunt moves into the sidings and whatnot, so they do get battered now and again and fail. Though I don't know what the problem was this time around. Makes a change from Aldgate failing at 7AM and shutting down the whole of the City!

Which given your title (DISTRICT SOM) is about right as this is an H&C area. Farringdon has equipment no more or less reliable than the majority of locations. Aldgate is similar. Co-incidences happen in every part of life.
