Hello all,
Having been a LU enthusiast for a few years, I have travelled extensively on all lines, and am currently down to just 7 units required to travel on. Three of these are on the Jubilee line, namely 96072, 96117 and 96118.
Now, I have never even seen 117 and 118. I assume they are coupled together. Considering the number of hours I have spent on the Jubilee line, it strikes me as rather odd that I have never bumped into them.
Alarm bells ring. Are they even in service, or are they tucked away stored at the back of one of the depots? Anyone seen them recently, or have I just been really unlucky?
Any help appreciated

Welcome to the forum Colin!
Had a feeling the numbers seemed familiar, I'm assuming its not in the last week youve been on the jubilee? In a thread a couple down on jubilee line ATO, these were apparently the first units to go to Highgate test track for testing and such. They're back on the jubilee now, but it hasn't been that long.
Hope this helps!

Units 96117/118 have been at Highgate depot on the Test Track for about 2 years, it returned to Jubilee Line service at the end of April this year.

How long has 96072 been out of service, and do 96117 and 96118 have the newer seating moquette (was the seating changed on 96TS before those units went to the test track)?

About 5 to 6 months.I believe 118-117 has the new moquette,it's only the 4 new trains 120-119,122-121,124-123 & 126-125 that have the old pattern.

Thanks very much for all the replies. Looks like I may finally catch up with 117/118 soon.
With 072 I may have to wait a while. I would be very grateful for a 'heads up' via this forum when it comes back into service.

Sorry for delay in replying, have been away. An update for 47444,072 unit is now out of the lifting shop and now coupled to 089 unit on 38 shed road, will let you know of any further developments. Cheers towerman, shouldn't have long to wait now. What are the other units you haven't been on out of interest? As well as the 3 Jubilee sets mentioned in this thread, I also require: District Line 030 and 042 (to travel on only) Northern Line 596/597 (for sight and travel) Cheers

May be some time before 072 gets out in passenger service,it's been stopped for such a long time it'll probably have to do some milage accumulation/confidence test runs first.

What was wrong with 072 to cause such a long break from service?

Had to cross London last Friday night (17th)
Arrived Euston 22:40, had to be at Waterloo for the 00:05 departure.
Decided to do Victoria line to Green Park and then swap to the Jubilee. First southbound Jubilee train was 117/118. Result !!
