Hi All, I am trying to work out how trains are going to run to the new flying junction at Canning Town from Beckton. Can anybody help are there any diagrams? I assume there is going to be 3 tracks leading away from Royal Victoria towards Canning Town? I believe the bridge will come into use from May after the 9day closure; will there be some type of crossover built to allow trains to get over to the flyover? I assume once the flyover open the old 2 tracks leading round to Canning Town will be remodelled to connect to the lower platforms at Canning Town? I can't get my head around how trains will get from the lower platforms round to R Victoria? Sorry if that don't make any sense

I'd love to help you on this. Thing is, I have no idea about what DLR are doing around Canning Town - I know they are doing things for the Stratford International branch, but the whole thing for me seems complex. Could anyone shine some light on all this? Maybe with some line diagrams?

First stage from Canning Town, over the new flyover, to/from Royal Victoria/Beckton "should" commence on Tuesday 2 June 2009. Nice public photo vantage point from Silvertown Way flyover.

I'm surprised no-one's written on here with their congratulations to DLR (well, Taylor Woodrow at any rate) on getting the Canning Town flyover into service *without* needing the one-day extension, and without any apparent problems. Couldn't believe it when I turned up at Beckton Park station on Monday morning, expecting to get the replacement bus from Prince Regent again, only to see the PIDs flashing "NORMAL SERVICE ON ALL DLR ROUTES"!
Also I'm amazed how many people on the train seemed totally unaware that the train was now climbing a steep incline and crossing a viaduct to get to Canning Town station, crossing over the tracks they would have travelled up to the week before.

I see the work taking shape over that week and it was very impressive! they really worked hard.
I could tell by the Friday that the extra Monday would not be needed!
