These, like the R stock were delivered with beamless shoe gear. The R stock started to receive conventional shoe beams in the early 1960s. Did the 49ts UNDM receive shoes beams, and if so, when? Cheers Metman  |

I assume by 1949 Stock you mean the 1938 Stock extra order?

Yes, they were different however, having different bogies and 'R' door design.

According to Piers Connors excellent 'The 1938 Tube Stock' the beamless shoegear was replaced in 1960-61.

The door top was flat not rounded, and a self latching mechinism replaced the leather strap on the door.
