The only unit of A stock that has been withdrawn (apart from a few that were scrapped years ago) is 5172-6172-6173-5173, and it's at Neasden. May I ask what happened to this unit to cause its withdrawl? |

The unit was withdrawn because 5172 had cracked bogies. The leading end of 5173 was hit by a tree at Ickenham a year ago. It was the only DM with a trailer cab dome. There is a thread on the Metropolitan Line section, so I would point you in the direction of that.
