For me 5100/5101 stands out from the crowd. A strong, reliable, sleet / de-icer, unit, one to treasure. Superb runner as well, hardly ever sits down.

I remember lots of trips on 5112/5113, both as a 4 car unit and as part of an 8 car unit. I also remember alot of trips on 5120/5121 whenever we met my grandmother at Kings Cross.

You'd only see a thread like this on the Met line board ;D

Yes I haven't seen many similar threads like this on the Jubilee board.
To be honest, much as the A-stock are an institution, and are "real" trains, as long as the damn things don't fail on my shift, I have no preference as regards units - double-ended or not.
That said, it can be very interesting to dig out the old log-books when a car number rings a bell, and you find the same few numbers cropping up. The double-enders are obviously easier to keep track of.

That's collapsed the probability wave then....... i dont even know what that means..... Warning - PRONOUNCED thread drift, but at least I will explain my words. ;D ;D Try (if you are feeling brave) Copenhagen Interpretation or (if feeling even braver) Einstein-Poldosky-Rosen Paradox or think of Schrödinger's Cat. You don't know whether the cat is dead until you open the box. Before the box is opened the cat is neither alive or dead. Opening the box will confirm what state the cat is in. The act of observation has collapsed the probability wave. Making a comment about a decent A stock is akin to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, or in this case: the Mechanical Sympathy Principle (Rail Variant) - making a comment about something being good ensures that it will sit down.

5232/5233 is my favourite unit, good brakes, good suspension, good acceleration after that it would be 5066/5067, because it left Shoreditch on the last public service and also on the East London Line itself.

My favs are 5002 "Superb", 5034 "Furious" with "the Ark" in the middle. I stabled 5000 "D400" up in Uxbridge last night and I always like driving 5149 "Defiance". ;D
