There is an engineering possession at weekends: SWT quote: a.. The lines will be closed between Surbiton and Woking all day Saturday. b.. The main lines between Clapham Junction and Weybridge, also New Malden to Kingston, the Hampton Court branch and Surbiton to Effingham Junction, will be closed all day Sunday. c.. Part of Waterloo station will be closed on Sunday. A restricted train service will operate using the high-numbered platforms. ROTR (section 7 southern pages 417/418) gives: SAT SUN P1 - 10 shut SAT SUN all 4 main lines through Queenstown Road shut SAT SUN Hampton Court Jn - West Byfleet all 4 main lines shut SUN Earlsfield - Hampton Court
The query is whether Point Pleasant Junction > Wimbledon will be used? In the event of NR requiring to send service trains down the line other than in the few circumstances as at present, does this have to be notified to LU and does it then require a special District timetable?

Point Pleasant Junction was definitely in use; I saw 2x450 descending the single line to join with the Windsor Lines near Wandsworth Town.

Thanks! So PPJ was being used ..Saturday or Sunday please? I am just wondering if they were ECS or not?
The previous weekend with Brockenhurst being used to terminate trains, they were using 2x450s on the Waterloo runs as BH depot was inaccessible. Then on the Sunday they used a 450 on the Lymington shuttle.

From GENSHEET: "Was on 21.11 Weymouth-Waterloo last night (6/10). On reaching Wimbledon on time at 00.46, train was unexpectedly sent via East Putney. At Point Pleasant Jn, train was halted; guard then announced 'due to problems on line ahead, the train will return to Wimbledon and go forward from there to Clapham Jn'
This duly happened; train reversed in up slow platform at Wimbledon (no 5) and got to Clapham Jn at 01.19. No further explanation was given for the unscheduled non-diversion".
Very odd!!!
I gather from a SWT guard that the 2110, the last Weymouth through to to capital, has been known to go via this route because of engineering work although route retention sounds more plausible.
I would love to know what arrangements have to be made between NR and LU about the use of the line. And also how many ECS use it.
