Years ago, each summer, I used to see gangs repainting the infrastructure with red oxide followed by aluminium silver paint (on the Met/Jubilee open stretches).
Has this practice ceased? If so, is the infrastructure just being left to rust away?

On the District it seems to be left to rust away.

correct red lead has been banned some time ago now but the red / brown stuff you see now popping up is anti - graffiti paint

IIRC that red 'stuff' has been banned, can anyone confirm? The "red stuff" that's banned is red lead and was banned several years ago. The current "red stuff" is generally known as "red oxide".
