Hi guys,
Well the time has come for our station to have a refurb. I am sad about it as the station still has quiet alot of old features.
Example on of those old Pa'S which i am guessing hasn't been used for years. It has the original 1930s seating which will go. Older style wood seating at the end of the platform.
No doubt the station will get a horrid lick of paint.. Lot of stupid speakers and the platform turfed up for new style platform requirements.
No doubt the "light side" swastika will be removed for some PC reason even though it's not the nazi dark side version.
The old shop door fronts and red telephone box GONE
Yep it about to be killed off so i am goign to photograph it before it goes into the 21st century...
Bye bye the Upminster Bridge i knew.. I'll miss you!
P.S
Can anyone shed some light on a section of blind i have. It says Upminster bridge "of course" but why would that appear on a blind??
Cheers James

Very Likely a bus blind !
Upminster Bridge, boundary road was a curtailment point for buses on route 248 when it was worked by Titans and Nationals from Hornchurch (RD) garage. There was also a scheduled turn there by an afternoon peak starter aimed at the school traffic in that area, running Hornchurch Garage - Upminster Bridge - Romford Market ...
The stand was just into Boundary Road. I think it remained on the Frontrunner blinds, but had gone by the time Ensignbus took over the route. The stand remained, however, with it's flag until about 5 years ago, albeit always parked upon, any attempt to turn a bus down there now, i guess would be futile !
