Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet.. the District has been shut down today between Ealing Bdy and Turnham Grn due to signal failure at Hanger Lane. Apparently a train 'ran through' the points there causing severe damage.. anyone know anything further ? Can we expect it to be sorted for tomorrow SOT or further delay .. ?

It depends on how badly the points are damaged. If it is not a quick fix, the Picc will be suspended Acton Tn-Uxbridge and the District Ealing Bdy-Ealing Cn. It could really be tricky tomorrow morning

Wouldn't the District get suspended between Ealing Broadway and Turnham Green, like it is at the moment? Are there any problems getting District trains into Ealing Common Depot, as trains can't run into the depot when coming from the east?

No trains can go in depot via Ealing Common WB PFM. And out of depot direct to Ealing Common EB PFM.
Trains can reverse this way. Train will arrive at Ealing Common, train stops slightly forward of the normal stopping point. Doors open (excluding front 2 doors in first car), T /Op de-trains then gets in east-end cab. Shunt clears for depot. Train enters depot to stable / keep going (when authorised) back out the east end to Acton EB PFM for EB working / driver to change ends in depot and takes train into Ealing Cmmn EB platform for EB working (this is unlikely if the Picc is running)

the points could not be ran though as they are facing so the train would either go north ealing or ealing bdy the other set are just p way trailers so the weight of the train pushes them over. the problem was with replacing the stock and switch on 9w (the set to ealing bdy or north ealing) i will not say my thoughts in this public forum but to say it went belly up would be a understatement

I presume 9's are still maintained by Tube Lines but isn't Metronet responsible for the track there these days. It must be 8 or 9 years since I last worked there.

It failed again today too. A TO was present in the IMR to do something though.

liked to know what he done in the IMR when the fault is with the equipment outside? As I understand, he was in the IMR to answer the phone, then went outside.
