Having acquired a couple of LBC whitemetal K2 bogies from underneath one of their Q38 trailers (!) I would wait for the Metman/Radley product. From the pictures that Metman posted elsewhere they look pretty good to me! I am in the process of building two kits for Q35 trailers. These are marketed by Phil Radley but are from the old LBC range. I am not sure if he has any left. The kit is pretty coarse in terms of the basic resin shell but, with a fair bit of work, it is beginning to look like a Q35. I am having to be very brave with a razor saw in places though. When it is done I will send Metman some pictures and ask him nicely if he would post them for me.... These two trailers will be equipped with the Metman/Radley K2 when it becomes available. If you are doing one of the conversions from a former DM then one end will need a motor bogie frame. I have a picture in a book which shows one of these (08832) and the motor bogie remained at the former cab end but without traction motors and pick-up shoebeams. The shoefuse boxes were removed as well. Both of the latter items were also removed from the trailing bogie. The support brackets for the shoebeams remained however although I would imagine that these would be difficult to model. As the two LBC Q35 trailers came with a pair of motor bogies I have the sideframes as spares should you require a couple. Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Many thank for the replies.i will be getting onto Radleys for some k2's.I am using the Bill Bedford etched brass kits to make the bodies of Q stock cars with an old harrow white metal Q38 trailer to complete the 4 car rake, inspired by the photo on the front of the Surface stock planbook. Cheers John

Bill Bedford kits of Q stock? that's a new one on me! Mind you, etched brass sends cold chills down my spine..... I bottled out on a Blacksmith 4-SUB when I saw the etchings! I too am having an old Harrow whitemetal Q38 in my set. It makes sense to me to put the motor bogies under it! Which bogies are you using to power your set?
