Thanks 21146. When did the Griffin die out? I suppose its last gasp was in 2000 when it was finally removed from supervisors' and duty managers' cap badges. It had been steady decline long before of course disappearing from unform buttons and collars, plus from items like LT Catering cutlery etc.

Thanks 21146. When did the Griffin die out? Of course the griffin still lives on in the cap badge of the small number of directly-employed TFL bus officials. But then the buses always had more of a sense of tradition than LU, where uniform change is a case of "baby out with the bathwater" and sod history and tradition.
