A bit of a rareity, so I thought i'd post this picture I took yesterday. I heard the controller ask set 74 divert to to cover a gap in the Richmond service, knowing 74 is a C stock, it was camera at the ready trying to judge where it would pass me and have the camera powered up ;D Got a wave from the driver too ;D ;D

74 is a District Line train, the message would have been from the District Line controller.

Ahh - but between Notting Hill Gate and Edgware Road the radio is changed to the Met Controller frequency However, I think you'll find that aspect DID hear it from the District controller, as the pic is taken at West Ken and so aspect would have heard the announcement from the District Controller.

Very nice pic (especially that you can see the Desination Board so clearly)

Nice. Pity the train isn't the cleanest it could be.

This afternoon I was on a c2c train on my way to Upminster, on passing Barking Sidings, saw a 4 car C stock in the roads with the buffer stops, the other 2 cars of the C stock was in the siding alongside the eastbound District.

Sounds like the H&C line has been shuffling the pack again - its unusual for cars to be mixed and matched outside of depots. I've traveled along the C2C/DL for years (although am not living to the east end of the DL at the moment) and have never seen a 2car/4 car units in those sidings. If anyone's traveling along that route this evening/tomorrow morning try and get a shot if you can as I can't see those cars remaining like that for long

Well, I can tell you that they have been there since last Friday following an incident in the sidings. I can't go into any more details about the incident, but there are a number of things that need to be done before the units can be re-coupled, but how long that will take I have no idea - it could be soon, or possibly not ;D

They should be able to move on their own.

I took a couple of piccies of the two car unit (didn't notice the four car at the time ;D ;D) - then I found out the circumstances. Like Solidbond says, it would be inappropriate to divulge any more info at this time - sorry.

i know this is completely off-topic and the admins can feel free to remove this, but at the top of this thread is some advertising about pregnancies ;D, does the four-car mentioned by colin have anything to do with this?

I think the ads are generated randomly from a database.
How often do the Cs get to visit Richmond? is it daily? weekly? monthly?
I know they are not diagrammed but it could come in handy for a simsig TT

How often do the Cs get to visit Richmond? is it daily? weekly? monthly? Certainly not daily. If it all went to timetable then they'd never go there. But believe it or not, the District does occasionally have days that don't go quite to plan.

Its very ad hoc. Its in no way a scheduled run. Depends what controller is on and what the problems on the railway are. Saying that, we had 2 on the bounce around half 7 this evening. Both was to cover 2 cancelled Richmond trains from Upm.

The Dmt connected these diverted trains with Wimbo's in the adjacent platform so those who took the usual advice of take the 1st train and change at ECT still got to Wimbo in good time.
