Ha ha ha! I was thinking that, and how difficult it would be. There are some nutters that have their current collection from the conductor rails, there may be someone who has working train stops!

From my childhood, I have a vague memory of a tinplate clockwork O gauge steam engine that had a lever that could be hit by a rod attached to the track, which would stop the engine. Immediately. The effect on the following train was not good.
It may even have been Hornby's 4-4-0 model of a GWR "King".
