Question for Victoria Line people:
On a 67ts, what position is the TBC left in when the train is working in ATO?
What is the effect of moving the TBC into a braking position whilst the train is on the move in ATO? (on a 92 stock, moving the TBC from the "stow" position will cause an emergency brake, does something similar happen on the 67ts?)
I'm trying to clarify if it's possible for a Train Operator to get the train to approach a platform at caution speed, without first having to stop the train and then change to coded manual.

Off & release,if the TBC is moved to a braking position then you'll get whatever braking rate is selected, also the ATO feed retaining circuit will drop out so as to stop the train remotoring if the TBC is put back to release.

However if the EP brake is used more than twice, does ATO drop out? or was that with the old auto driver boxes?

Thanks towerman. So, am I correct that if a driver were to move the TBC to Rheo 1 on the approach to a station then back to off & release, this would brake the train down as far as the driver wanted, then roll in to the platform at the reduced speed with the ATO still in full control?

It would still pick up brake commands, but as I said in previous post there will be no motoring as the retaining feed drops out when the TBC is moved.

When I was on the Vic many years ago, some of the drivers used to go out of ATO on the approach to a station and brake manually.
