Today is a single part question, but there are quite a number of bonus points available. *Click image for a larger version* To make it easy for everyone, the insets are numbered thus: Top row L-R = 1-3 Bottom row L-R = 4-6 On the right of the image, 7 is the top one, 8 being the bottom one.

I would have guessed Elephant (Northern Line side) as well.

I agree with yerkes on 4 and 8, but I think that 7 = Lincoln Cathedral (west front).

6 I agree is not in my 'umble opinion Salisbury Cathedral...no scaffolding for a start! Also 8 is indeed the Spinaker Tower...excellent viewing point for trains from Portsmouth Harbour station!

6 is Lincoln (west front), 2 is Big Pit at Blaenavon (agree with pgb); I vaguely recognise 7 - seem to remember that the brick bits sway a lot when ringing the bells, 4 obviously Eden (agree with upfast), 4 is taken from the South Bank looking over towards the embankment - London Bridge? (that's an utter guess as I'm rubbish at London Above).

Do you mean 3 for the latter of these? Yup. I was too busy thinking about a signalling diagram at the time and got my 3 H/L crossed over with my 4 H/L. Pants!

Wahay!!!! I got an answer!!!!! No8 is definately the Portsmouth Spinnaker tower. The Gosport ferry can be seen at the bottom as can the I.O.W. fast cat and I can actually see the tower from where I am sat! All these months and I get this excited about getting an eighth of a question right!

Well, between you, you have a few, but not all of the insets, and no-one has the main location. Let's see if these versions help.... Main location: Inset 1: Inset 2: Pithead wheel, Big Pit Mining Musuem, South Wales [Chris M]: Inset 3: Inset 4: Eden Project [Chris M] Inset 5: Rainbow Bridge, University Parks, Oxford [StuartPalmer] Inset 6: Lincoln Cathedral, west front [SE13] Inset 7: Inset 8: Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth [Chris M] *Click on any of the images for a larger version*

At a guess, inset 3 is another fine photo supplied by Dimitri and is of the River Moskva in Moskva itself, with the HQ of the Petrocommerce Bank on the right-hand side.

Inset 3 is a fine photo submitted by Dmitri, and it is the "Smolensky metro-bridge carrying Filyovskaya ('light blue') line across Moscow river between 'Smolenskaya' and 'Kievskaya' stations." I don't know whether that is the HQ of the Petrocommerce Bank or not.
The main location and insets 1 and 7 are still up for grabs.

Indeed the main picture is Shepherd's Bush (Central Line) pre-refurbishment. Just insets 1 and 7 to get now.

I don't know whether that is the HQ of the Petrocommerce Bank or not. At least, it is what that big red letter in the top of the building say . BTW, to the left of it is the UK Embassy in Russian Federation. A book-like building near the centre is the former Comecon HQ (now occupied by Moscow city administration). Finally, to the left of the shot is the House of the Government of the Russian Federation, colloquially known as White House ;D. Click here for WikiMapia.

Clues to insets 1 and 7: Both are in England, inset 1 is north of Coventry, inset 2 is south of Coventry. Neither are in Coventry.

Just a quick reminder that we are still looking for these remaining answers. Further to the clues above, I can narrow it down to London for one and Yorkshire for the other......

After some hunting around, I'm guessing that inset 1 is Nunnington Hall.
Still stumped for inset 7 - another clue might be handy.
