On my way to work, I had the pleasure of riding on one of the classic D's, which must be the first time in a long time now as I seem to always catch refurbs!! Anyway, I looked up out of boredom and saw this: Co-incidently, I got on the same train back, 7 hours later... But are these old or have they just been put there by TfL to get with the 'feeling' of the old D's?

They appear to me from the 80's wonderful, but most of the eastern end passengers ignore the polite request with impunity... until reminded by a 6ft tall BLABSH T/Op not to do so!

Got one lady who came all the way down platform 8 at EBD today, to the front car which was empty, just so she could put her feet up Luckily, I stepped on and the rest is obvious ;D

;D ;D
Someone needs to tell them- someone has to sit on whatever has been transferred from their shoes to the seats, it's just inconsiderate.

As my Central colleague mentioned, those stickers are old. You tend to find them on the unrefurbished D stocks which are notorious for the adverts to be falling down all the time! You often find old Lu stickers beneath them.
I had one recently where the line diagram had been peeled away revealing the 1980s line diagrams with diamond interchanges!
It's a waste of time putting those stickers up anyway... Very few people actually take any notice of them.

If there were enough staff to deal with it, then a £10 spot fine to cover cleaning costs and the costs associated with it needing to be replaced earlier would be good. You wouldn't catch everyone of course, but it might make some peopel take notice

You wouldn't catch everyone of course, but it might make some peopel take notice I think it should be a minimum of £25. When I worked on BR, I used to say to people: 'Be careful you don't get your shoes dirty on our seats.' and they'd put them down. One day a woman in a Brilliant white skirt, sat with her shoes on the opposite seat and then had the cheek to complain her skirt had got dirty on one of the seats. My reply was: 'Well Ma'am, IF passengers refrained from putting their dirty shoes on the seats, it would help erase the problem.' As I said this, I made sure I was looking at HER shoes. They were very soon placed on the floor. Not another word was said. Nowadays when I travel and I board a train, only to see a passenger with their shoes/boots on the seat opposite, I make a point of sitting where their feet were, but ONLY after getting them to put them on the floor and then brushing the seat.
