What is the procedure for closing down the cab of an A Stock train - I only ask as I've noticed T/Ops briefly reaching down into the space below the controls; presumably to operate a button or lever located in that area, and not simply to tie a loose shoelace!

Brake handle to emergency. Close DBVIC (Which is where they bend down , as it's near the drivers feet) When the trainline needle shows s zero, Brake handle to release. Switch off headlights and on taillights and stabling light. Leave cab.

You also have to remove the control key and take it with you before you leave the cab. Yes, I have forgot that on more than one occasion

I bet the walk back to the other end in order to retrieve the key seems to take forever as well!
Thanks for the information on this procedure; it's greatly appreciated!

Switch off headlights and on taillights and stabling light. Leave cab. Just to add, including control key, turn cab-light switch to on. (Nothing worse than opening up a cab and getting surrounded in darkness )
