As I write, there is a signal failure at Hyde Park Corner which is causing "minor delays" on the Piccadilly line but "severe delays between Acton Town and Ealing Broadway" on the District!
I'm sure one of you will have a perfectly logical explanation... ;D

I was stuck in the traffic jam between Ealing Bdy and Acton, it was a joke ! They were probably using the local platform at Acton EB to do stock and crews, late meal reliefs, gosh knows what... as usual, its a disgrace. The LC told me that the trains were losing about 20 mins between Ealing Bdy and Acton EB !!!!

Acton Town is the Piccadilly line's equivalent of the District's Earls Court or the Met's Harrow on the Hill, etc, etc.
So if the Picc is 'up the wall', it will affect the District through Acton Town.

There have been occasions where, for instance, the Chesham shuttle has been suspended due to problems on the Central.
Sometimes, the truth as it really is, may not seem feasible to the general public, but if a driver that is required at Chalfont is delayed on the Central en-route to work, and there are no spare drivers, then service suspension may be the only thing we can do.

Most likely due to congestion caused by Piccadilly line trains. If it is after the peak service then the District may suffer more as they too are sending more trains towards Ealing and then to the depot. Despite the District's whinging, the Royal Blue railway more than oftern comes to the rescue by running all stations via the Local or additional stops on the Fast, when there are mega gaps on the District, like on Tuesday with only one train between Hammersmith and Whitechapel!

I guess that would be someone coming from the eastern end of the Central?
