Hello,
I hope YOU can help me!
I make a complete List with all Historic Rolling Stock (preserved and non-preserved but survived today!) from the London Underground!
A complete List with all (see below) Types and Preserved status (from the Complete EMU until a little remain!)
here the Important facts
Rolling Stock at the London Transport Museum -> Static Exhibit -> under Restoration -> in Use! -> stored and not to Public!
Rolling Stock at other Museums -> Static Exhibit -> under Restoration -> in Use! -> stored and not to Public!
Rolling Stock at Private place -> Open to Public (viewable from Street ...) -> not open to Public
Rolling Stock at other use -> Part of a Building -> other!
Thanks and Greetings

Well, for a start, virtually all the cab fittings of Driving Motor [DM] Car 1163 and a seat from the passenger saloon reside in my garage. This is the old 1959 stock, ex Northern Line.

The air gauge from DM 10014 (delivered 24/5/38) lives with a selection of CSLR tickets on AI's dressing table.

My garage houses a 62 stock speedo, and I can get a reading by connecting a battery. No idea of the car number it came from though.

I have hear the other DM from the 1938 Tube Stock who are stand in the Acton Museum Depot have buy a Private! is this correct! This might be a little lost in translation, but I think you mean... is the other DM at Acton Depot owned privately??? As far as I'm aware DM 11182, which is not part of the 4-car preserved unit) is owned by the museum and is now back in the refurbished Covent Garden museum as opposed to the depot. It was temporarily housed at Acton depot during the refurbishment works at Covent Garden: cjw1.fpic.co.uk/p46557104.htmlwhat is the Future? designated Trains who in Use but later collected by the LT Museum or other! I'm not too sure of the policy the LT Museum use to decide which units/cars will be preserved. Obviously celebrity units would attract interest (e.g. the first A-stock unit 5000), but decisions would be based upon cost and space to house saved examples. As for private ownership I suspect private owners have contacted LU as units have been withdrawn to enquire about buying them or sections (e.g. cabs).

I don't think A60 5000 will go there as it is a single-ender. 5056?

I think 5066 would be better than 5056, as it ran the last LU East London line service.

I'm sure at least two of them are DMs.

On 30.07.06, six cars of 1983 Tube Stock were lifted out of Uxbridge sidings using Sainsbury's service road. Four cars went to the viaduct in East London and were 3662, 4662, 4633 and 3733. The other two (3633 and 3762) went for scrap at Booths.
The four units (two trains, 12 cars) went from Cockfosters sidings as follows:
29.10.06 - 3735 and 3753 to Booths for scrap. 29.10.06 - 3653, 3654, 4653, 4654 and 3754 to HSE 12.11.06 - 3635, 3656, 4635, 4656 and 3756 to HSE

Curious. Why did they want them?

Probably for testing before they are put on the Shoreditch viaduct, to make sure they're safe.

The Shoreditch cars went there before the ones for the HSE left Cockfosters. For HSE, think "7/7" and the repercussions of it. Can't say more than that.

About 10 years ago, there used to be an R-Stock DM (?) in the Stables Market at Camden....it was very visible from Chalk Farm Rd opposite the Lock Tavern at "top of viaduct" level. Does anyone know what happened to it? Have any (other?) R-Stock survived? I was always fond of the old Surface stock....

A few months ago at least, R49 DM 21147 was in a yard close to West Drayton station (left hand side facing London just before the staton) and could be seen from passing trains. I am not sure if it is still there. Perhaps anyone passing that way could update us?

R38 DM 22624 is at Mangapps Farm Railway, Burnham-on-Crouch, along with two 1959 Tube Stock cars in 'Heritage' livery and the former Tramm from the W&C.

HSE were probably testing to see how easy it is to hide bombs or something. But considering trains like it are no longer in service, what's the point?
