Why wouldn't you just specify the same doors for replacement stock? Unless there is a problem with where the doors (and thus PEDs) are situated on the 96ts it would seem to me to be a total waste of money to charge it for the sake of it. The Siemens trains for each line are not going to be exactly the same anyway.

There arn't that many PRR-AYS shuttles anymore (just in peak times i think), most Aylesbury trains go through to Marylebone.

They did once plan to send it to the Electric Railway Museum in Coventry but that sadly closed down of course.

I am thinking they must be third rail as the TOPS number is the 4XX section. They have made a D-Stock cake to celebrate!

Chris, thanks for showing me how to get a Twitter link to work without it automatically fetching the tweet.
I am currently editing my video footage of 230 004, one thing that came to my notice as soon as I started editing is that it sounds so loud. I did not notice the same level of noise when actually there - neither as a passenger standing next to the stationary train at a station nor when travelling on it.
yes i noticed that too, i could barely hear it for real (when i travelled on it on Friday) but reviewing a video i took it seemed much louder, most odd

Another 230 is now out and about (230 004) on test, is that two under test now?

If you do a guided tour of Acton depot then the friends open a stall, they had a stack of maps (Met i think) last time i did it

Just the right height i think, high enough to get a great view but not so high you can't see any of the details below

Most of it i believe, according to the guides any moves to sell the building have been abandoned.

Yes was lucky, the wind was picking up but still ok, another hour or so and we probably wouldn't have been allowed out onto the roof gardens

I went on the Charing Cross Hidden London tour on Friday which was very good as always with HL. I took the following photos: www.flickr.com/photos/megara_rp/albums/72157688727457506Unfortunately a Jubilee Line train didn't come into one of the platforms during the tour as happened on one of the earlier ones (as seen on twitter) but you can't have everything!

I have quite a few surplus map stickers and signs which the LTM friends sell on their stall, they're up on various walls and the tube train sign about giving up your seat i've put in one of the windows of my car. Plus i've got this on my chromebook... I've also got an SID (think thats the right name?) on my front door...

Liverpool, Beijing, HK and Singapore. Oh and the Midlands Metro too if we are including that!
The Asian metros i have been on are all quite a few years ago now and so have probably changed beyond recognition.

It seems to change a bit but i read somewhere the W&C 92s would be replaced first in the early 2020s as this would help test the new design too. The 72s are down for the end of the 2020s before replacement starts so i guess they will see 2030 at least!

I was warned off Acton Town a few weeks ago (via the tannoy) because taking photos were "prohibited". I didn't bother arguing and just left. I guess they know people won't bother argueing.

i haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else on this board but LT Museum have held a couple of day long events at Acton which included access to the various preserved tube trains at the depot and an explanation of how to drive the trains what the various controls did, the differences et cetera. I was at one of these "Cab It!" days yesterday and it was brilliant. I was able to "cab" 9 different types from the Standard Stock to C Stock, which of course will be old hat to any pros on here but to an enthusiast it was a kind of nirvana. The guide was brilliant and covered so many technical areas. If the museum do any more of these tours i recommend them. In case anyone is interested these are my photos taken at the event www.flickr.com/photos/megara_rp/albums/72157668264723323

Yes the Euston tour is excellent (went on it last Saturday), to be honest i did feel a bit like a peeping tom looking down on people who were oblivious when in the vent tunnel! If anyone is interested, photos i took can be seen here www.flickr.com/photos/megara_rp/albums/72157668969598796

Thats good news as i booked the Euston tour yesterday! Bit of chaos yesterday as the link they sent out to LTM friends didn't actually work (though if you were web savvy you could fix it) but they resent it in the end.
