Way to go, cetacean, thank you! That's so cool, did you go out and track it down deliberately? If so, wow! And thanks to everyone else for your suggestions too. I'll go and have a look myself one day

One question, one comment. This has a nice little detail of Strand station - not entirely correct tiling (and I can't quite see the train in enough detail either). Anyway, I've had a look through my 'Tiles of the Unexpected' and I can't identify the station here. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey guys, thanks for all your replies - I realised last night I was on the right kind of path thinking in terms of bikes leaning into corners, but of course they only have two wheels, not four, so when I thought about how my lil Micra corners (or doesn't, compared to my old Mini ) it all made sense. I still think the word 'counteract' was what threw me, I appreciate the word 'balance' more, that kind of works in my little noddle better! (Odd: I just remembered that someone posted last night with a Wiki article, and that post isn't there any more. I found that useful too, so ta, mystery peep)

What is 'cant'? I see from this that it means that one track is slightly higher than the other 'to counteract the centrifugal force of a train travelling around the curve'. Um - I'm a bit bewildered by this [1] - to counteract? Surely it would actually assist the train round the bend (like leaning a motorbike into a bend) than counteract any forces? Hmm. Please explain in words of one syllable if at all poss! [1] a permastate for me, so what the hey...

Trust you, coming up with a silly name for yellowy-orange! I'd go for lilac, but then I'm a renowned purpleperson.

Down St, Earls Ct, Camden Town have all been mentioned, yep Acton Town is doable too... Baker st, forgot about that. Have been looking in various maps to try and plan a route. Had no idea DS was still operational, didn't think you could see it from the train? thx for the suggestions! ;D xx AngelIs

Morning, Next week I have a friend visiting from Canada who wants to see lots of tubery, partic the unusual/hidden/uncommon stuff. I had in mind to show him Leinster Gardens and the funny little 'fake' station just north of Euston road/west of Euston stn, I thought also of the WW1 memorial at Baker Street. He's into signalling and ops which hasn't really been my thing, so I don't know of anything cool/quirky? Any suggestions, anyone? thx in advance xx AngelIs
