Quick easy one, for those who might have the current WTT... Are any trains scheduled to be reversed or stabled in the sidings that are next to Down St (Disused)? Hywel Williams talks about them being integrated into the current systems (and one of his pictures shows what looks like a sign reading IMR...) but I'm wondering if they ever actually get used.

One of the last trains on the EB comes from the east end of the line to reverse in Down Street siding. It is then either the last train (or second the last) "through the road" back EB from Green Park towards Cockfosters (without looking at the WTT I'm not too sure).
The only time is doesn't run is when King's Cross signalling desk is closed.
It is also used during the day to reverse late or defective trains, or if a train operator is over driving parameters.
Also, during the Hammersmith to Acton shutdown there are reversers every 20 mins

In WTT 42 (28/9/06) situation is similar, 340 (last-but-two WB) comes off Arnos empty at 2344, goes into Down Street after leaving Green Park at 00a13. Forms the 0023 off Down St, runs in passenger service EB as the 0025 off Green Park, arrive Arnos 0055 as the last-but-two EB then goes to Oakwood and back empty before stabling at Arnos sidings.

It used to be used to reverse 67TS stock moves from Cockfosters to Northumberland Pk when the exterior cleaning of 67TS was done there as Northumberland Pk didn't have any facilities for cleaning when it first opened.

Wasn't it used after the 2005 terrorist attacks to reverse eastbound trains from Heathrow or Rayners Lane?

The one that does it now (T.343) as per WTT43 runs empty from Arnos to Down St, ex siding then passenger from Green Park to Arnos (followed by the last 2 passenger trains to Cfs), detrains and continues empty to Oakwood, then reverses off the E/B platform empty back to Arnos sidings.

Interesting; I can't remember seeing booked paths for this in the appropriate Picc WTTs of the period or any of the pre-1971 Victoria WTTs. *wanders off into the Victoria foothils of the WTT mountain* There are plenty of booked transfer paths in the Vic WTTs to/from Acton or Hainault (both of which make eminent sense in the early 'life' of the Victoria), but I can only find a Thursdays Only or a Wednesdays Only to Cockfosters. Was only one train washed at a time? The last Victoria WTT to show the once-weekly path is WTT A8 (13/11/72), stopping when WTT E8 h/w (March 1974) came into force. When did the washing plant open? (Apologies for the thread hijack)

Many thanks, all. (Story research. Hoping the result isn't execrable. )
