I e-mailed the organiser of the forthcoming centenary tour [this Sunday], asking for the exact route and some idea of times for the 1430 trip.
So, the route will be:
Golders Green to Charing Cross (via the crossover) to Mill Hill East (a short layover) to Kennington via the Charing Cross branch, round the loop at Kennington to Golders Green. The trip takes 2 hours 10 mins. The train will not be described on the platform indicators as it does not have the equipment to activate the information electronically.
Some of the timings for the 1430 trip - these could roughly be adapted to the 1100 trip with a little thought:
1430 train leaves GGN at 1433, is at East Finchley at 1516; Finchley Central 1523; Mill Hill East 1525 departing at 1540. Going south it arrives at Finchley Central at 1543; East Finchley 1546 and back at Golders Green at 1652.
The 1800 service leaves Golders Green at 1803 and arrives at East Finchley at 1846; Finchley Central 1853; Mill Hill East 1855, departing at 1910. Going south it arrives at Finchley Central at 1913; East Finchley 1916 and back at Golders Green at 2022.
Also:
By all means take as many photos as you wish - but please do not bring a tripod as space is likely to be limited on the platforms as we have a great deal of interest from enthusiasts as well as our 'normal' customers to accommodate. The train is not stopping at East Finchley but will do so, both north and southbound at Finchley Central.
HTH,
David
