Can anyone involved with the tour find an answer on how the tickets will be allocated? I don't know how many people a 4-car 1938 stock seats, but can't be many (170 ish?)
Thanks,
David

It would really be an idea if the LT museum could make a full 7 car train from a couple of ex IOW DM's and the once to be track recording car. That would give 288 seats, excluding tip-ups Out of interest, why is the train seating less than normal?

I've just been over to the the LT Museum Depot's website and noticed the "Vehicle Outings" tab has disappeared from the "What's On" menu. Could this be due to an impending update.

The entire website is due for an overhaul in about a month. They need to kill off all of the apostrophes and make it look as shiny as the new museum.

It appears the route for the special will be GG-CX [reverse]-MHE-KEN [reverse via loop]-GG.

Well if i don't get a ticket i shall be embarking on a 1938 stock chase to get video from as many places as i can. Anyone else who doesn't get a ticket is welcome to join me. I'm hoping to get a ticket for the afternoon tour so i will be there in the morning anyway flying around the LU network doing some video of the morning tour. Are we having a meet on this day, if so maybe time to start on the details.

Out of interest, why is the train seating less than normal? Probably something to do with paperwork! More likely because you need some seats for the Stewards.

I've just got a letter from the Friends of LT Museum saying that the 38 stock strips are to go ahead. In addition to those that we already know about, there is provisionally another trip at 1800 for staff and Friends only (presumably because the others are about to burst). There might also be a centenary mug with each ticket as well as the book.
It says to mention if you are a Friend in your letter. I hope that I haven't been disadvantaged by applying in what was presumably the staff application window. Has anyone heard anything back yet?

I haven't received anything yet and i did mention that i was a friend in my letter when i sent it off. Has anyone got a rough timetable for the tours so i can place myself at strategic locations for some pics. Blimey, another tour at 1800, i wont have much time to go to the meet at the end of the day by the time I've finished chasing it around the network.

I think they might send tickets a week or two before the Railtour, that's what the Mainline Railtours do

Just to advise anyone else who booked tickets for the tour, I received mine this morning. I have been lucky, I am going on all 3 trips! I didn't receive the books though, I am assuming I will be given them on the trip? Possibly the book won't be published till the 24th?

Yes David, I will be sick of the 38ts unit by the end of the day! As Dr Samuel Johnson almost said, "When a man is tired of '38 stock, he is tired of life."
