I'm not 100% sure about all of this but I suspect there is a religious (specifically Christian) theme to today's quiz. My guesses for the locations are: A - All Saints B - Abbey Road C - Angel D - Blackfriars B is the odd one out because it includes a building (Abbey) while the rest feature people/beings (Saints/Angel/Friars). Also, the background to B is Whitby Abbey. Answer: Location B: Abbey Road - southbound platform [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Background B: Whitby Abbey [ howda62 ] (click for a larger version) Inset D: London Mithraeum (Temple of Mithras), Wallbrook in December 2017 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Clue: Location A: (click for a larger version) Location C: (click for a larger version) Location D: P (click for a larger version) You’re kind of on the right track with the link xplaistow , but location B isn’t the odd one out. And we still need background A and inset C.

Ok, well then A is in fact the very similar Bow Church which suggests the link might be religious buildings. Therefore, I'll take a guess at Westminster for D.

Ok, well then A is in fact the very similar Bow Church which suggests the link might be religious buildings. Therefore, I'll take a guess at Westminster for D. Close enough with that link for me, the card says "These are all locations named for places of worship. ". However D isn't Westminster (which in an area).

In case it wasn't clear, A is Bow Church, specifically a photograph taken by me of the stairs to the southbound platform

To clarify, I was thinking of the 'minster' part of Westminster. I can't think of any other places of worship on the Tube map (other than Whitechapel, Hornchurch and Upminster which C definitely can't be, Temple was going to be my next guess BTW) so is C the odd one out?

Location C is the odd one out, we still need to identify that location and why it’s the odd one out.

If Hobbs Lane existed it would definitely be the odd one out.

I've just spotted we didn't give you the clue to background C, even though ducatisti's made a guess of "St Mary thingy in Southwark". It isn't St. Mary Overie or any other building in Southwark named for St. Mary. (click for a larger version)

Hereford Cathedral perhaps for background C? Fairly sure the main C is St Pauls Eastbound.

Location C: St. Paul's - east end of eastbound platform in January 2008 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset C: Hereford Cathedral in August 2009 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) So why is St Paul's the odd one out? And what is the background to A? Should also have given credit for this link to stuartroy

Is St. Paul's station the only re-named one?

Possibly, but renamings are not relevant to this link

St Paul's is maybe the odd one out because the inset is not called St Paul's - the dedications of Hereford Cathedral are to St Mary the Virgin and St Ethelbert

You're close with "not called St Paul's" but the odd one out is not related to the insets.

St Paul's because it doesn't have a place of worship in its' name?

They all have a word for a building (church, abbey, temple) in their names, except C which is called after the saint the building is dedicated to. instead of the word for the building itself ("cathedral")

Exactly what we're looking for, well done.
Just the background to A left to find.

Background to A looks like an Eastern Orthodox church - the Greek flag suggests Greek Orthodox, but probably not actually in Greece. The vegetation suggests somewhere more Mediterranean than British.

It is an Orthodox church in the Mediterranean, and it is probably Greek Orthodox but I've not been able to confirm that. (click for a larger version)
