I'm wondering if Inset 1 is somewhere on the Monsal Trail as that looks like a Midland Railway Signalbox

The main is a bridge, but it isn't Putney Bridge - does this version help? (click for a larger version) As for the inset, a bit of googling tells me it's not on the Monsal Trail and that it wasn't built by the Midland Railway. This version may help: (click for a larger version)

Is it the bridge that carries South Eastern and Southern services over the Thames in Victoria don’t know the name of it That bridge (the Grosvenor Bridge) carries no TfL services. I think it's the Cremorne Bridge (the one between Imperial Wharf and Clapham Junction) As for the inset, the colours suggest Midland Railway, so if it's not the Monsal trail, is it on the Bath-Bristol cycle path?

You have the main (by a former name), but the inset is closer to the Peak District than it is to Bath or Bristol and the Wikipedia article doesn't mention the Midland Railway. Location: Battersea Railway Bridge - north side of easternmost span [Chris M] (click for a larger version)

Looks like Hadlow Road to me, which is a preserved disused station on the Wirral Way footpath between Hooton and West Kirby.

Inset 1: Hadlow Road disused station, Wirral [ londonstuff] (click for a larger version) The line is a very pleasant walk these days, it was formerly a joint operation between the L&NWR and GWR.
