10/14, got 1, 5, 12 and 13 wrong although 13 is quite obvious given a second look!

13/14, although ashamed that the one I got wrong was Glasgow!

I got thirteen correct (only getting the InterCity posteer wrong), some were educated guesses uses clues in the posters that perhaps should have been redacted.
For example "See England by Rail" isn't likely to be Edinburgh, an LNER poster is unlikely to be Newport and I doubt a poster for Hartlepool would advertise "Through trains from the north".

I did exactly the same as stuartroy and rincew1nd. I reckon that InterCity one might be the hardest.

That's how I identified #5 - only one of those towns would be advertised by the Southern region. ~~~~

14/14. Dead easy for an old git like me with a penchant for history, except,as @rince1wind and xplaistow have said, for that Inter-City one. I guessed it had to be the least likely to adhere to all the marketing Johnnies(I will assume the marketing Joannas were either thin on the ground in that era or were far too intelligent to try and produce that level of bull) put up there, so one of the three would surely have been promoted majorly around the water, another majorly for its' shops, which left the right answer. Tell you what would be fun, though, to find 14 existing venues with open stations for which to design a 'go there or be square' poster, for venues with rather less exotica or natural attractions than the poster might suggest.

All right except No 8 - although I was surprised at the "through trains from the north and Midlands" for any of the three possibilities, given their current services

For TfL-served stations: 1. Stonebridge Park 2. Queen's Road Peckham 3. Acton Main Line 4. Turkey Street 5. Caledonian Road & Barnsbury 6. Emerson Park 7. Gunnersbury 8. Hatton Cross 9. West Silvertown 10. Kentish Town West 11. Latimer Road 12. Maryland 13. Devons Road 14. Barkingside

14/14 Only because Glasgow was the only choice that I can think of that already had something of a well regarded reputation for its shopping districts in those days. I'd like to know what kind of wizardry was employed to make the Clyde look so Mediterranean!
Part of me really does wish the railways would return to this more simplistic form of advertising. Obviously the picture of Britain these posters portray is one that is glorified, but they serve as a timely reminder of just how much there is to explore in this country through our still substantial network. As someone who has been fortunate enough to live abroad during my childhood, I do believe that you can have as much fun exploring the country you thought you knew as with those you didn't.
