Background C is looking west along the Royal ALbert(?) dock, with London City Airport to the left, and the Connaught Bridge in the distance.

Between you you have most of the answers, which includes the PM below. Good morning, Today’s locations look to be Vauxhall for Location A with Salisbury as the inset, Oval for Location B, Waterloo for the inset of C and Clapham North for D with Location A being the odd one as it isn’t served by the Northern line. Answer: Location A: Vauxhall - entrance to subway [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset A1: South West Trains Class 159 159102 at Salisbury in January 2007 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset A2: Salisbury station - view from platform 5 buffers in January 2007 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location B: Oval - under side of entrance canopy [Chris M] [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset B: Rye Windmill, East Sussex [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Background C: University of East London Docklands Campus and Royal Albert Dock in snow in December 2010 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location D:Clapham North - exterior from southwest [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Background D: Clattern Bridge, Kingston in October 2009 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Clue: Location C: (click for a larger version) And still looking for the link, odd one out and fifth in set. [edit: Background image for C fixed - Chris M]

Is C Shadwell?
If so then perhaps:

C is not Shadwell, but it is the odd one out and it is because it is the only one that isn't one stop from Stockwell. Brixton is the 5th in the set.

Location C: Wapping - entrance [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Chosen as it's one stop from Shadwell rather than Stockwell.
