How many tube lines did the 38 stock run on? - Did it ever run on the Central Line?? I'm sure some rsn on the Epping to Ongar line, or was that 1935 stock? The 1960 stock trains had a 1938 stock trailer between the two DM's. The 38's were mainly on the Northern and Bakerloo, although there were some on the Piccadilly too.

It may only have been one unit although I stand to be corrected regarding the numbers. So, in passenger service: Northern Line Bakerloo Line Piccadilly Line East London Line Central Line

I understand that 1938 stock worked on the Stanmore shuttle before it was formally transferred to the Bakerloo, so you can add the Metropolitan to that list!
Possibly the District as well, when it shared tracks with the Picc to Hounslow and Rayner's?

I believe unit 10177 ran on Epping-Ongar briefly, to cover for an absent 1935 unit. It eventually ended up on Alderney for a while before being replaced by the current 1959 unit there (not sure about the trailer though).

And any unit running Epping - Ongar would also have run in service Loughton or Woodford - Ongar, too, and empty to Hainault

And any unit running Epping - Ongar would also have run in service Loughton or Woodford - Ongar, too, and empty to Hainault and probably the District Line too as a stock transfer from the Central Line at Ealing Broadway. Remember too the stock transfers from the Met to the ELL, and stock transfers over the City Widened Lines from the Met to Farringdon, then by battery electric locos via the CWL to Kings Cross BR to Finsbury Park then down to Drayton Park for the Northern City Line. Not forgetting the other stock transfer that used to take place from Finchley Central via Crouch hill and Finsbury Park to Drayton Park in earlier years.

These would not have been in passenger service though, would they?
