Beautiful photo, is that the Transport Museum in London? It looks like the LT Museum in the old Flower Market building at Covent Garden. The old Transport Museum in Clapham (a former tram depot) closed in c1973, with its LT exhibits moved first to Syon House and then in 1980 to Covent Garden, whilst the BR exhibits went to the new (or rather, vastly expanded) York Railway Museum. Possibly before the museum was refurbished into its present format / style of exhibition? Simon

Thanks for info re Circle Line codes. Wonder if they changed at all in the 1945-65 period....

Hello everyone, I am a long-time reader but a new member. So here goes with my first post - apologies if this question has already been answered and I have missed it. In the photo of the Gloucester 1956 stock (8 Jan), why does it show a destination of Mill Hill Park? As I understand it, Mill Hill Park was renamed to Acton Town in 1910.

Thanks for joining up!
Mill Hill park? Looks to me as if it's a special occasion (centenary, jubilee?) and the blind has been specially made up. Someone on here may actually know the event....

returning to the Line after an absence of 13 years, 1956 Stock unit 1009-9009-2008-1008 operated a shuttle from Acton Town-Northfields at 40min intervals 10.00-17.00. on the blinds at each end were: 'MILL HILL PARK', the former name for Acton Town and 'NORTHFIELDS & LITTLE EALING' the former name of Northfields.
