Not sure about A...... looking back to Upton Park? I'm actually thinking east of Upton Park (looking towards East Ham). That's surely FEX923, wouldn't you say?

I think this is a bit too obvious to be right?
Link: LU lines running next to OHL tracks?

A - District and LTS looking towards East Ham from Grangewood Street B - District and LTS from Plaistow Road near the station C - District Line above Barrington Arches (As I heard them called on here the other week) east of East Ham, looking at a HS1 access shaft D - District Line exiting the flyunder of the LTS east of Barking
I am guessing something to do with the District Line is the link, I have no idea what though!

If previous answers are right, these are successive stretches of the District Line, albeit in the wrong order. The next one could therefore be between Upney and Becontree. (or is that too easy?)
(Or possibly between West Ham and Plaistow)

(Or possibly between West Ham and Plaistow) Sometimes the easiest answer is correct! D is the odd one out because it's looking West rather than east? Or because its not part of the H&C in passenger service.

Sometimes the easiest answer is correct! Your statement is accurate; Chris works hard to provide a mix of difficulty level (from Elephant in the room to decidedly fiendish) so that the quiz is attractive to the wide membership of the forum. Alas, at this time of day, I'm not at liberty to divulge if today is easy or evil! D is the odd one out because it's looking West rather than east? Or because its not part of the H&C in passenger service. There is no (intentional) odd one out today.

Location A: Between East Ham and Upton Park - view east from Grangewood Street [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location B: Between Plaistow and Upton Park - view east from opposite Plaistow station [Chris M] (click for a larger version) I will never forget the signal in C it's FFX929 the very first signal failure I had on my own You've just given Chris M an idea for a future question Location C: Between Barking and East Ham - signal FFX929 [Chris M] cmckenna/photos/quizes/tq2016/November/Nov24cunmodified.jpg[/img][/url] (click for a larger version) Location D: Between Barking and Upney - west end of diveunder [Chris M] (click for a larger version) I reckon you've figured it out, fifth in set: Between Becontree and Upney Link: These are between consecutive stations on the District line As I've said before, sometimes it is that simple!
