Question: Identify these four stations and the link between them. Station A: (click for a larger version) Station B: (click for a larger version) Station C: (click for a larger version) Station D: (click for a larger version) The insets in image C are numbered clockwise from the top.
The astutue amongst you will notice that the pictures are not currently showing. This is because they are not on the server. I'm sure as soon as Chris M spots this he will start to take steps to remedy the situation.

The thumbnails are now online, and the large ones are presently uploading and will be available in the next few minutes. The astute will further note that there is only a single inset in image C and so the note about clockwise numbering is not relevant (it appears here as it was relevant to whichever day I based the answer file on but had not been removed in the partially complete version Rincew1nd was viewing).

B inset is Liverpool Cathedral, looking along Hope Street (probably from somewhere round the Philharmonic Hall).

B inset is Liverpool Cathedral, looking along Hope Street (probably from somewhere round the Philharmonic Hall). As Liverpool has two cathedrals (joined by a street named Hope, I'll add that it's the Anglican cathedral. Agree it's probably on Hope Street but it doesn't look a familiar location: I've stayed at the hotel there loads of times. Look forward to seeing the original

Agree it's probably on Hope Street but it doesn't look a familiar location: I've stayed at the hotel there loads of times. Look forward to seeing the original A look at Google Images reveals that the building on the right is the Hope Street Hotel, and that the picture must have been taken from outside the Philharmonic Hall (where I received my degree 35 years ago!) IIRC the Anglican cathedral was referred to as Liverpool Cathedral and the Catholic one was Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. As a Methodist I'm sort of neutral!

Between you you have stations B, C and D, and the background for B. No attempts were made at anything else though :/ Firstly what you've got: Location B: Ruislip Manor - fence behind eastern end of westbound [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Background B: Hope Street, Liverpool [ rincew1nd] (click for a larger version) Location C: Chesham - lights on platform [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location D: Croxley - roundel from northbound train [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Now what you've still to get: The link [no clue] Location A: (click for a larger version) Inset A: (click for a larger version) Inset C: (click for a larger version) Inset D: (click for a larger version)

I was going to say that each station is one stop after a junction on the Met (or before if you're going the other way!), until I realised that B would have to be Eastcote for that to be true.
I'm intrigued by the cliff lift in inset C but have no idea where it is, despite a long trawl through Google Images.
(EDIT) Found it - it's the Wellington Crescent Lift at Ramsgate

Inset C: Ramsgate - cliff lift [ stuartroy] (click for a larger version) The link isn't about distance from junctions, but junctions do have relevance to the answer.
