I'll kick myself over A I'm sure...
D must be Northfields looking westbound towards Northfields depot and Boston Manor - I assume from the eastbound fast platform (3).

The technical difficulties were caused by errors in the answer file (one a find and replace that found more than it should, and the other a hangover from a different find and replace error from November 2013 - I have used questions of this pattern since, so my only presumption is that this is the first occasion since where you've needed a clue version for image C!). Anyway, here is the clue for location C: (click for a larger version) and the unmodified version of inset A2: (click for a larger version)

Is inset B Knole Park Sevenoaks.
I think the link between the 4 stations is that they are all Island platforms, (Wimbledon park is could be deemed as odd one out because it is a single Island platform as the others have 4 tracks and twin island platforms.

First: C Background - Covered walkway to car park, London City Airport. Then: Background: London City Airport - walkway from terminal to car park [Chris M] (click for a larger version) And then: C Background - Covered walkway to car park, London City Airport. Background: London City Airport - walkway from terminal to car park [Chris M] (click for a larger version) All of which means that: Inset B background is London City Airport, walkways to the Car Parking. doesn't get any points I'm afraid! Is inset B Knole Park Sevenoaks. It's not. It isn't a "park". I think the link between the 4 stations is that they are all Island platforms, (Wimbledon park is could be deemed as odd one out because it is a single Island platform as the others have 4 tracks and twin island platforms. That may well be the case, however it's not what we're looking for. You don't need to know about the station layout to find the link. Wimbledon Park is "special" amongst the set (even though we didn't ask for you to find an odd one).

It is to do with the station names, but it's nothing to do with other specific stations.

Could it be that all these stations have been or are still served by two lines at the same time South Ealing and Northfields both District and Piccadilly Lines, Finchley Road served by Metropolitan and Bakerloo/Jubilee Lines (these 3 being both Tube and Surface stock)in the case of Wimbledon Park being served by District Line and British Rail.

Wimbledon Park isn't served by national rail services.
However, they are all next to depots of some sorts, Wimbledon Park being the odd one out as Wimbledon Park EMUD/CSD is a network rail location, as opposed to an LU location

It is to do with the station names.... Which mean the two geographical-based answers aren't what we're looking for. You need nothing more than the information we have already provided.
