Is this the side entrance to the station that might have been named Selfridges?

I'm going to claim the points.
It occurred to me that had Bond Street been renamed Selfridges, then it might have been an early example of a sponsorship deal involving the underground. I suppose it could be argued that Bank promotes the Bank of England; the Great Central Railway persuaded the Bakerloo line to use its name for the station at the GCR terminus; and Gillespie Road was renamed to a local football team. Are there any other stations that have a name that promotes a local business?

Arguably White City. And Heathrow.

Woolwich Arsenal, although the business was defunct before TfL arrived. Custom House for ExCeL (this is the official name of the station) North Greenwich for the O2 (this isn't the name, but appears on signs and the tube map) Canary Wharf (this is arguable, as it's also geographical for the DLR and not far off for the JLE but the Crossrail station should be Poplar or North Quay) Crystal Palace (like White City)
National Rail has several other examples Woolwich Dockyard (defunct now though) Wembley Stadium Alexandra Palace Rhoose Cardiff International Airport
IBM Halt British Steel Redcar (although these are special purpose stations) Lympstone Commando (very arguably)

London City Airport?
Edit: And the Emirates Air Line has Emirates in the names of both of its "stations"

I imagine "Denham Golf Course" would also have qualified - especially as it very nearly became a Central Line Station.

Also University in Birmingham. Treforest Estate in Cardiff although more tenuous. Loch Eil Outward Bound maybe?

Filey Holiday Camp (station still exists albeit trackless but camp long gone), Staveley Works. Also Manchester United Football Club, and Ramsline Halt in Derby. Chislet Colliery Halt in Kent. Christ's Hospital also.

There are lots of stations around the UK associated with stadium in the name or similar e.g. Bescot Stadium, The Hawthorns, Ninian Park. If we extend into tram, light rail or metro then it gets even messier e.g. Stadium of Light, Velopark, etc

Very tenuously there is Leyton Midland Road - the road was named by the Midland Railway I believe.

Woolwich Arsenal, although the business was defunct before TfL arrived. Lympstone Commando (very arguably) I was there yesterday - the station was built specifically to serve the commando training centre, and originally had no access except by way of the sentry post. It still has no public access except by the Exe Valley cycle trail. TfL didn't built Woolwich Arsenal station, and the Royal Arsenal was very much in business when the South Eastern Railway built the station in 1849, and was still going strong when my grandparents first met there, ninety years ago, although the football team had moved away before WW1.

In December new maps started being installed, which don't have the extra bit.
