I hope you all had a relaxing break over Christmas and you've been revising your stations in preparation for another 11 months of quizzing? I've been busy and then had computer problems so, I only have a few days prepared so far and I've only just managed to upload them, so please forgive me if there are any gaps in proceedings in the next couple of weeks, but after that I hope to be back to normal. So, without further ado, I present today's single part question with a bonus available: (click for a larger version) Bonus question: Why was this photograph chosen for today?

I've been looking forward to this - but I think really it's you - and the rest of the team - who's had the thoroughly well-earned break! Not a clue on this one though - somewhere on the DLR? Let's say: Canary Wharf.

You're mostly all on the right system, but nobody has guessed the correct station yet. Is it one of the stations which open in 2011 with facing platforms? This station did not open in 2011, see if this helps: (click for a larger version)

Neither of those, but being a new station is relevant.

" So just the Bonus question: Why was this photograph chosen for today?"
Because it's blurred. Everything is blurred on New Years Day.

While that is true, it's not the answer I intended!

Nah, so we'll say the usual 24hours before the answer is revealed.

I believe this station is on the site of one of the four original pudding mills that the Lord Mayor of London operated each New Year's Day to give out puddings to the poor.
The others were allegedly at Hoxton, Ealing and Lambeth, but we don't have enough detail to pinpoint these others. The East London site was apparently commemorated for a couple of centuries by an inn in honour of the Mayor's assistant who pointed out the need for alms for the poor in the first place.
That, of course, being Dick Whittington's cat, history's first puddingista.

Interesting theory, but wrong!
The reason why it was chosen for New Year's Day was simply because it is the newest station on the TfL network.

So you're saying that no other stations have opened on the Tfl network since 1996? Are you sure?

Depends o your defeinition of "new" of course, but the old Pudding Mill Lane station was on a different site.
By the way, although I like the Black Ferret's suggestion, I understand the eponymous mill didn't make puddings - it got its name from its shape.

The Pudding Mill Lane station illustrated in this thread is a new station by all definitions (new site, new alignment, new design) except name and topology.
