Wow, lots to work on for the last day of the month. Question: Identify these four locations and the link between them. Bonus question: Why was this link chosen for today? Location A: (click for a larger version) Location B: (click for a larger version) Location C: (click for a larger version) Location D: (click for a larger version) Insets in images B and D are numbered from left to right

I'll have a stab at things this morning.
Inset on A: Finnieston Bridge
Insets on B: (1) Glasgow Exhancge Place (just behind inset 6) (2) Walter Scott statue (3) Glasgow Central (4) Argyle Street (5) Glasgow Transport Museum (6) Duke of Wellington Statue
Insets on D: (1) Exhibition Centre station? (2) Looking east from Tradeston Bridge
As for C: It's a Glasgow Underground Station and I'll take a wild guess at Bridge Street, for the main I'll go for Hatton Cross for some reason.

Eeek, how did I end up doing this answer? Right, lets see: Location A: No guesses, but as there's a lot here you can have a clue: (click for a larger version) Inset on A: Finnieston Bridge Aye! (after a little research by me!) Inset A: Clyde Arc (AKA Squinty Bridge), Glasgow [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Correctamundo - Location B: Euston (LU) - passage from southbound Victoria line [Chris M] (click for a larger version) So, the insets for B.... <<apologies: I tried to sort out the B insets, but an episode of TNG interupted and I need to go to sleep now.>> No correct guesses on Location C yet, see if this helps: (click for a larger version) As for [Inset] C: It's a Glasgow Underground Station and I'll take a wild guess at Bridge Street... It might well be wild, it is the Glasgow Underground, but not there, so see if this helps: (click for a larger version) [Location] D = London City Airport, stairs from street level to ticket hall. Of Course, Location D: London City Airport - concourse from stairs to Drew Road [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Insets on D: (1) Exhibition Centre station? (2) Looking east from Tradeston Bridge The first matches the answer on my card, and the second sounds about right. As your A inset guess was right (thank Google!) I'm trusting that this is too! Inset D1: Exhibition Centre station, Glasgow [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset D2: George V and Caledonian Railway bridges, Glasgow [Chris M] (click for a larger version) So, that's the locations for now <<I'll be back to B insets shortly>>; so the link, only one guess so far: The connection must be this is St Andrews Day. Well, kind of; the question was: Question: Identify these four locations and the link between them. Bonus question: Why was this link chosen for today? The link was chosen because this is the S t Andrew's Day quiz, but that is not what links the four main images. Nobody has mentioned the overlay yet. You did spot the thing with the overlay, yeah? (With apologies to @geofftech) To summarise: - Still to get
- Euston
- Still to get
- London City Airport
Plus: - What's the link? Still to get
- What's the link between the insets? Erm, still to get. We might have forgotten to ask you this bit
- Why this link today? St Andrew's Day
- And what's the thing with the overlay? Still to get

You have insets B2, B3, B4, and B5. B1 and B6 maybe correct, that's not what I have on the answer sheet. Chris M or Rincew1nd will be along later to confirm. Inset B1: (click for a larger version) Inset B2: Scott Monument, Glasgow [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset B3: Glasgow Central Station [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset B4: Argyle Street Station, Glasgow [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset B5: Musuem of Transport, Glasgow [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset B6: (click for a larger version)

Would B6 have "Museum of Modern Art" on the answer card by any chance? As for the Glasgow Underground....how about.... This (Kelvinhall) And the link being Glasgow I presume?

"Glasgow" is relevant to both what links the insets and what links the main locations, but it isn't a complete answer for either. Inset B6 is the Museum of Modern Art and Inset C is Kelvinhall station Inset B6: Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art - main front [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset C: Kelvinhall station, Glasgow Subway [Chris M] (click for a larger version)

Posts discussing Glasgow Subway moved to their own thread here.Location A: Heathrow Terminal 5 - entrance to station from terminal [Chris M] (click for a larger version) C is not Kings Cross St Pancras. It's a very good guess at the link, however you can't get a train or flight to Glasgow from C. Summary so far: - Heathrow T5
- Euston
- <<Still to get>>
- London City Airport
Plus: What links the four main locations? <<Still to get>> What's the link between the insets? All in Glasgow Why this link today? St Andrew's Day And what's the thing with the overlay? <<Still to get>>

Location C: Victoria - SSR ticket hall from stairs from platforms [Chris M] (click for a larger version) So surely you can see the link now? And what's the overlay? Nobody has even tried this yet: (click for a larger version)

You can get a bus to Glasgow from Victoria Coach Station. You can indeed, so the link is....... Is the overlay a Charles Rennie McIntosh design? I don't think it is. If it was that would be a happy co-incidence though as he died in 1928 and I don't think that design was settled on until the 1970s.

So the link is places where you can chnage from the Underground on to some other mode of transpost to get to Glasgow.
Is the overlay a design for one of the Underground seating moquettes?

...Is the overlay a design for one of the Underground seating moquettes? I'm not sure it is a moquette, I'm pretty sure that it was actually wall decoration.

I'm not sure it is a moquette, I'm pretty sure that it was actually wall decoration. I'm pretty sure it's utter tripe. The subway was another engineering gem lost in the grim mediocracy which was the sneering 'seventies.
