I noticed last night that a lot of trains on the ELL are stopping short of Highbury and terminating at Canonbury.
How long has this been happening and why.

Canonbury or Dalston? I wasn't on an H&I job last night but I know that the information systems were showing all trains on the up were terminating at Dalston Junction when in fact it was service as normal. Unless there was something that happened at H&I which meant a train that had already left Dalston was stuck it would be highly unusual for more than one service to terminate at Canonbury as all following services would be turned at Dalston.

The CIS at Forest Hill and Surrey Quays have Canonbury as the terminating station.
However, on the CIS at Surrey Quays, the lower line is scrolling that the tube strike is off and trains are terminating at Highbury & Islington, this is also on the white board in the ticket hall.
I suspect LOROL requested that Canonbury was added to the CIS at the core ELL and the ex Southern stations for the duration of the now cancelled strike.

Bicbasher you are correct, it was proactive measure for the strike, however for some reason there is a fault which means they can not remove it.
A lot of the screens are now displaying "see front of train for destination".

I did see on the Watford DC services that Wembley Central was an operational stop i.e. not to set down/pick up passengers, and trains were running out of service (in theory) between Hackney Wick and Stratford. Guessed it was as these are LUL stations which could be closed, LO don't want to take the hit in PPM

A lot of the screens are now displaying "see front of train for destination". I noticed that on the southbound platform at Surrey Quays, where trains are operating normally. You can't win! There was also a fault on Tuesday during the evening peak where it displayed the Crystal Palace service before the West Croydon at Whitechapel.
