I just like these quizzes so here is another one.
1. Chiefly above the great house 2. A school 3. The hen's kin's borehole 4. A piggy emotion 5. An establishment of a cow's defence 6. Next to the pub royal 7. A high member of the clergy 8. There is no dried grass
What links the above and what is missing?

No 8 Hay-no?
I think I've got Nos 2, 3 - and maybe 5 as well, although that doesn't fit the pattern established by the other three - but I'll let others have a go first.

If no-one else is playing, 1 Bossed-on Manor 2 Grange Hill 3 Chick-well 5 Horn church? 6 Barkingside 7 Up-minster (although high church might be a better clue - a minster is a monastery, a man of the cloth would be a minister)
No idea about No 4 - although I suspect ham is involved somehow, or the link, or what might be missing.
