Is the "direct train" from Amersham available through normal commercial service ? You don't need to be on a museum trip if that's what you mean, the C Stock Explorer did visit there last weekend though.

Seeing as we have exhausted all direct train services obviously you can't get there without changing unless one of your other clues is wrong.
Even changing on the same tube line involves one change

I've looked back and can't see any false clues, only wrong assumptions.

Indeed this is not Northwood, and I too can't see any false clues.

Could this be another mislabelling a la last week's Limehouse/Westferry photo? I'm convinced its Amersham, as Global32 suggested, on account of a) the single track (suggesting an island platform) b) the canopy which fits c) the yellow line being twice as far from the edge as most tube platforms c) the extra space where a siding might have once been d) the arrangement of the line side cable carrying infrastructure (the new bit that goes over the old cables and the bit that goes over the tracks) e) what appears to be the start of a bridge that the tracks go over So I looked up the platform on the national rail and found the the following which is pretty much the same photo minus the train. www.nationalrail.co.uk/SME/html/NRE_AMR/images/photos/800/o1062-0000038.jpg

This is not my photograph but I suspect it to be labelled correctly: The descriptive file name by caravelle included the name of the station (which was not Amersham, a station that nobody has ever sent me photos of), and was part of a set of other images of the same station.

Is it Watford? The clue that identifies the line is... It is shown on a standard tube map as a Metropolitan Line station. However "a standard tube map" could refer to one in the past but for now I'll assume its a current one with 34 staions. The next 3 unambiguous clues wipe out 20 stations 1 There are no "C"s in the name 2 3 In response to Moor Park we got It's got neither of those words in the name. The picture is clearly above ground which rules out a further 7 stations leaving the following 7 Watford, Pinner, Uxbridge, Preston Road, Ruislip, Ruislip Manor, Rayners LaneThe bold red ones are guesses that have been made and dismissed while the bold blue ones are stations which however you interpret the following clue puts them on the wrong branch In response to either Ammersham or Rickmansworth (it was unclear as to which guess was being replied to) we got With that canopy? Nope. You can get a direct train from there to here though. Hence all that is left is Watford which has been guessed for the main but not the inset. If "a standard tube map" refers to one from the from the past then I know that the met has been shown going to the Aylesbury and Barking and also included the jubilee line stations. Given the clue that you can get a direct train from one of either Amersham or Rickmansworth, it rules out all but the Chiltern stations accessible directly from Amersham. Ie Wendover, Great Missenden, Stoke Mandeville and Aylesbury. However, I don't think the 4th rail runs up that far and doubt the C Stock Explorer went there either. Hence, Watford is the only one that fits. (Though I still think the picture is actually of Amersham)

Watford doesn't have a canopy like that, and both platform lines have a siding adjacent to them. The Main is certainly Watford, but I too think the inset is Amersham. (When did Sarah last visit Watford?)

Watford is the answer on the card - "platform 1 looking North LINK23" is the precise description given to me.

If you look north at Watford, I'm pretty sure all you'd see are buffers and a bush\building with no through route

I fail to see any similarity of the picture clue to Watford. Clue: Watford looking south... Watford looking north Amersham platform 1 looking north 2 mislabellings in a week - though to be fair they were both on the right line

As Chris has explained, the picture was supplied labelled as Watford and all the clues we provided were based on our assumption that Sarah was there. The direct train I had in mind from Amersham to Watford is the early morning North Curve move.

The Limehouse/Westferry mistake was my fault, this one was not.

The Quiz Team put together a quiz for your enjoyment out of their own time for 51 weeks of the year. I know, having spoken to both Chris and Rincew1nd in person that it takes rather a long time, from the sourcing of the photos to the modification of them (which I'm sure you'll agree is impressive stuff), to having someone around each day to post the photos and monitor the responses. It would be nice if this was acknowledged rather than just commenting on what you see as two mistakes in a week.
If I were involved in the quiz team I have to say I wouldn't be too impressed at your comments.

A word of support for the quiz team. The daily quiz provides a great source of pleasure to me and I do appreciate the hard work that goes into making it happen. Of course there will be mistakes made from time to time, either by the team themselves or by someone submitting photographs. That just proves we're human. Keep calm and carry on, as someone once said.

No, I insist that the quiz team are taken outside and shot immediately, their goods and chattels seized by the state and effigies of them burned at all terminii of the underground network. In this age of petty blame culture it's only fair that people giving their time and effort free of charge for others' enjoyment should have to pay the maximum penalty when they make a mistake.

I agree with what"s been written above. The quiz team do a great job, and personally I think the error made the16th quiz all the more interesting, with people desperately trying to use logic to come up with the answer!

I'm really happy as well with the work of the quizz team! Everyday they provide interesting images for us for free in their spare time. We should be gratefull. People can simply do mistakes sometimes, it happens.
