You can often see them in Lille bridge depot, when you look at it from the A4, although they are just stabled there. I don't think they run normally during traffic hours, but I'm happy to be corrected

There was an engineers train stuck at Neasden Depot after a derailment at the weekend - so if you're quick you might be able to see those two halves (get a Met Line train heading into London from Wembley Park). Otherwise your best bet is to get a Central Line train between Ruislip Gardens and West Ruislip and look into the depot.
Lillie Bridge is only used sparodically now for some loco maintenance tasks.
Regards,
Dan

Very late evenings Rayners Lane there are usually 3 or 4 engineering trains every night and most return very early morning some when the first trains are about. Not guaranteed. If you meet a friendly member of station staff they may look in the Traffic Circular Appendix (if it still exists) for you. It gives or gave the times of all engineering trains scheduled for the week.

I know for sure there is at least one set of battery locomotives that passes though South Harrow in the mornings at about 6.18am. Sometimes you can get the track tamping locos, some of the overhauled battery locomotives and some of the yet to be overhauled battery locomotives.
I can see if I can find the Traffic circular on the intranet when I am back into work. (Tuesday)

There were at least four battery locos working engineering trains from Ruislip on Friday night (2May14) and I managed to photograph two of them. Here's a link to my gallery, I've built up a reasonable collection of shots of them over the past few years: mainlinesouth.smugmug.com/Trains/London-Underground/17834982_GCFkbt#!i=3218899468&k=6V5wGv9&lb=1&s=XL [Antharro] Mod edit: Tried fixing the link but I think the forum is screwing it up. Works if copy/pasted otherwise you might want to use TinyURL (or similar) instead.

Tried to get it to show pics. At the moment none of the pics mentioned appear to be on URL.

I got a nice photo a few weeks back of two battery locos down at Acton Works picking up a ballast tamper. Its great watching them shunt, and they even had to have bother loco's working to get back up onto the running line.
